Wrexham are expected to confirm a new back-of-shirt sponsor before the start of the 2026-27 Championship season, following what has already been a busy summer of commercial moves for the club.
The detail emerged in The Athletic’s article announcing Firefox as Wrexham’s new front-of-shirt sponsor, suggesting there is still another sponsorship announcement to come before the new season begins.
Firefox has replaced United Airlines as the front-of-shirt sponsor for both the men’s and women’s teams, while Nex Playground has been unveiled as the new sleeve sponsor, replacing HP.
One kit sponsor slot still to be filled
According to The Athletic, a new back-of-shirt sponsor will be announced before the start of the new season.
Wrexham have already confirmed Firefox as their new front-of-kit sponsor, with the Firefox logo set to appear across all three kits for both senior teams.

The new away kit will make its debut in this weekend’s friendly against Wisła Kraków in Poland, giving supporters their first look at the new strip.
So far, there has been no official announcement regarding the back-of-shirt sponsor, meaning one more commercial reveal is still expected before the Championship season begins.
Part of a wider summer reshuffle
It has already been a busy summer for Wrexham’s commercial department.
Following the end of United Airlines’ three-year spell as front-of-shirt sponsor, Wrexham have agreed a multi-year deal with Firefox, while Nex Playground has taken over from HP as sleeve sponsor.

It does not stop there either. According to The Athletic, the club’s home ground, which has carried the STōK branding for the past three years, is set to revert to The Racecourse Ground once the naming rights agreement expires.
Why another deal matters
Commercial income has played an important role in Wrexham’s rise under Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
The club’s latest published accounts showed total revenue of £33.35 million for the 2024-25 League One season, with £17.3 million coming from sponsorship.
That was up from £13.1 million the previous year and significantly higher than the £1.05 million generated through sponsorship and commercial activity during Wrexham’s first full year under Hollywood ownership.
Those figures are even more important now that Championship clubs operate under the new Squad Cost Ratio regulations, which limit squad spending to a maximum of 85 per cent of total income, with an additional equity allowance available.
Matchday revenue will remain lower than many of Wrexham’s Championship rivals while the Kop redevelopment continues, making it even more important for the club to maximise its commercial appeal.
The Firefox sponsorship has understandably grabbed the headlines, but the next announcement could provide another indication of Wrexham’s continued commercial growth. There is still one shirt sponsorship to be announced, and supporters may not have long to wait to find out who it will be.
