New boy Kayden Jackson is already looking forward to the coming season and playing at the Racecourse.
“Finally glad it’s over the line and all finished. Now I can concentrate on getting started and down to the hard work.
“I got the opportunity to play at Tamworth last season and show what I can do.
“Thanks to Dale Belford or initially signed me and Andy Morrell, who is well known here.
“It’s great that people like Gary Mills and Darren see something in you and think you can do well at this level, for a massive club like Wrexham.
“I think this is the right place and the right time for me.”
But as he arrives, another leaves…
Gary Mills has made his ninth signing of the summer, with the capture of Kayden Jackson, who was with Tamworth last season.
The Bradford-based player was initially gaining interest from a number of professional clubs in the Yorkshire area, but you might well recall having seen Kayden a couple of years ago, as one of the winners of that summer’s ‘Win A Pro Contract’ on Sky TV.
That was in 2013, when he was chosen from 5,000 budding footballers to sign a one-year deal with Swindon Town.
After loan spells with Swindon Supermaine and Oxford City, he joined Tamworth last summer and enjoyed a productive spell at the Lamb.
The boss was happy to secure his latest addition: “Delighted to bring in a talented player, who I know will fit into what I’m trying to do.
“He’s still only 21, but he had a good season with Tamworth. He needs to settle down now and show what he’s capable of, and I think this will be the place to do that.”
While one player arrives, another leaves and Steve Tomassen will be head in the reverse direction to team up with Andy Morrell at Tamworth.
After coming through the ranks at the Racecourse, Steve has extended runs in the first team and notched up well over 50 appearances since making his debut back in 2011.
Playing at either centre half or full back, he has contributed to the club in many ways throughout his time here and we wish him well on the next stage of his career.
