Wrexham FC fans received yet another opportunity to see the construction process for their new Kop Stand following new drone footage by Britain from above revealing the recent development on the STōK Cae Ras Stadium site. The video reveals how far along is the building process on the stand which can be seen to start forming on the side of the stadium behind the goal.
The video posted to YouTube gives viewers an extensive view of the stadium and its current project, as the description notes, with emphasis being put on the progress made in steelwork.
Supporters, who have kept track of the development since the initial stage of preparing the site for construction, can now see clearly how the stand starts coming into being. It is no longer just an empty end of the field or a construction site that has not taken the shape yet.

Latest drone footage shows Kop progress
In contrast, the new video is centered on the scale of the development from above as the drone moves around the STōK Cae Ras to put the development site in perspective relative to the stadium.
It’s worth noting this particular perspective is important. The redevelopment of the Kop Stand at the Racecourse Ground is much more than an additional stand; it’s a huge project that will completely alter the look and feel of the stadium.
According to McLaren Construction, the lead contractor of the new stand, the development is scheduled to be completed in the 2026/27 season and will see the restoration of the STōK Cae Ras to its four-sided shape with capacity increased to slightly over 18,000 people. Additionally, according to McLaren Construction, the stand will see the Racecourse Ground become a UEFA Category 4 stadium.
All of that provides context as to why any new aerial video of the development gets people excited. Every sign of progress is a step forward toward a future that Wrexham want to build.
Fans impressed by latest Kop construction update
There was an overwhelmingly positive reaction to the video, with many people praising both the content and the speed of the work.
“They aren’t messing around for sure! Coming along nicely!!!”
Another fan looked ahead to what the finished stand could become.
“It’s going to be magnificent when it’s finished Jason, you can really see the progress they are making.”
That sense of anticipation was repeated throughout the comments, with one viewer adding:
“It certainly is progressing quickly fab flight Jason fab views of the clubs extension.”
Another simply wrote:
“Wow, that will be finished soon!!!!”
IMO the enthusiasm is fully justified. The success on the pitch has come very quickly for Wrexham, although the redevelopment of the Kop demonstrates how the infrastructure is attempting to keep up.
Why the new Kop matters for Wrexham
The new stand will not only add additional seating. According to McLaren, the redevelopment process will provide the club with a modern concourse, improved accessibility facilities, better media facilities, and advanced match-day operations.

Considering that now the club is competing on a higher level and that its fans live far outside North Wales, such aspects become important. The STōK Cae Ras needs to be the home ground for Wrexham but to become a modern stadium.
This explains why the latest footage from a drone was received so positively by the fans of the club. It shows the work in process, and at the same time, it gives another chance to see what Wrexham has been developing for years.
The Kop is growing, and after each video update, the completed STōK Cae Ras is getting closer.
