Natasha Thomas made Wrexham Women’s history at The Rock on Sunday, scoring against The New Saints to become the first player to find the net in each of the club’s opening five league games of a season.
The Jamaica international struck in stoppage time during the 3-2 defeat to TNS, taking her league tally to seven goals from five appearances since arriving at Wrexham.
Fiona Barry eventually settled a dramatic afternoon with a 95th-minute winner for the visitors, but Thomas had already added another entry to the record books during an outstanding start to life in North Wales.
Natasha Thomas sets new Wrexham record
Thomas has found the net in every league game she has played for Wrexham. She opened her account in the 4-0 victory over Aberystwyth Town before scoring against Cardiff City and Barry Town United.
Her most prolific afternoon arrived in the 8-1 win at Briton Ferry Llansawel, where the striker hit a hat-trick as Wrexham maintained their perfect start to the campaign.
Another goal against TNS completed five scoring appearances in succession. Jodie Richards previously held the club benchmark after her scoring run at the beginning of her Wrexham career in 2018.
Thomas has now gone one better by becoming the first Wrexham player to score in the opening five league fixtures of a season. Seven goals in five games tells its own story, but the consistency of her finishing has been just as impressive.
Jamaica call-up interrupts remarkable run
There will be no immediate opportunity to make it six in a row. Thomas has been called up by Jamaica for their October internationals against Mexico and will miss Sunday’s trip to Swansea City.
Her absence comes at an intriguing point in the early title race. Wrexham’s first league defeat of the season left them on 12 points from five matches, with TNS moving onto 15 following their victory at The Rock.
The Swansea fixture therefore presents an immediate response for Wrexham, although they will have to find it without the player who has scored in every league game so far.
Record provides bright spot after TNS setback
The nature of Sunday’s defeat was difficult to take, particularly after Thomas had struck in stoppage time. It was also the first time Wrexham had conceded more than twice in a league game for 22 matches, dating back to a 4-2 defeat at TNS in September 2025.
That result ended Wrexham Women’s run of three consecutive victories against TNS, but Thomas’s latest goal ensured there was still an individual milestone to take from a frustrating afternoon.
Five league appearances into her Wrexham career, the striker already has a club record to her name. The sequence now pauses for Jamaica duty, with seven goals setting quite a standard for Thomas to pick up from when she returns.
