Wrexham faces a defensive setback as manager Phil Parkinson confirmed center-back Max Cleworth will miss eight weeks with a hamstring injury sustained in a 1-1 midweek draw against Burnley.

Scans confirmed the severity of the injury after Cleworth overstretched during the match. The absence disrupts Cleworth’s recent run in the starting lineup and forces a defensive reshuffle ahead of fixtures against West Ham United and Southampton. Parkinson noted the squad has depth options available, including Zak Vyner, Aaron James, Dom Hyam, and Joe Worrell.
Meanwhile, the club received better news regarding Josh Windass, whose calf issue is minor, and Ben Sheaf, who has recovered from his calf problem and travels with the squad.
