Wrexham AFC went above and beyond for an American supporter after his rental car was stolen during a visit to the United Kingdom.
The St. Louis CITY supporter attended a match in Wrexham and toured the Racecourse Ground before leaving North Wales. During his visit, he bought shirts, scarves and other merchandise from the club shop.
His trip took a disappointing turn when his rental car was stolen in Birmingham. Although the vehicle was later recovered, everything inside, including the Wrexham merchandise, had been taken.
The supporter shared the story in an article published by Notorious Friday Night Posse on 20 July. He explained that the theft had overshadowed what had otherwise been a memorable visit.
After learning what had happened, Wrexham AFC’s retail team contacted the supporter and offered to replace the entire order. They asked for his delivery details before arranging for the new package to be sent to his home in the United States.
“They replaced the entire order. Adult and child jerseys, scarves, glasses, signs and more. Wrexham AFC just won a fan for life.”
The supporter also thanked Ashley, identified in his account as the club’s Online Fulfilment Manager, along with Callum from the club shop, for their help.
The gesture transformed a disappointing end to the family’s trip into a lasting connection with Wrexham. It also ensured the merchandise they had chosen during their visit was not lost for good.
Wrexham’s links with supporters in North America have continued to grow alongside the club’s rise in recent years. The club’s international profile has encouraged more overseas supporters to visit North Wales and experience the Racecourse Ground for themselves.
This story was not about results on the pitch or the club’s Championship campaign. Instead, it highlighted the actions of staff who stepped in to help a supporter after an unfortunate experience.
For the visiting supporter, the outcome was simple. He returned home with his Wrexham merchandise replaced and an even stronger connection to the club.
