Phil Parkinson issues Ryan Hardie injury update ahead of Wrexham’s US tour

Phil Parkinson has issued the latest injury update ahead of the Reds' trip to America including Ryan Hardie, Ryan Longman and Elliot Lee πŸš‘

Phil Parkinson has revealed that Ryan Hardie won’t participate in Wrexham’s pre-season tour of America due to a thigh strain, providing an early blow for the striker before the start of the upcoming Championship season.

The striker will not be able to join the team on their journey as the Reds prepare to go head-to-head with Leeds United, Liverpool, and Sunderland in what will be yet another highly publicized trip across the Atlantic.

While it’s obviously not good news for Hardie and Wrexham, Phil Parkinson’s statement seems to indicate that the injury is being managed properly by the team while they prepare for the new season.

Speaking before the team’s departure, Parkinson said that the striker has suffered a thigh strain and therefore wouldn’t be traveling with the team.

The injury leaves Hardie without the chance of playing in three competitive games against the teams from the Premier League.

While Hardie’s absence is an obvious blow, Parkinson also delivered more encouraging news elsewhere within the squad.

Longman is set to take part in full training during the tour, while Elliot Lee will join the team and will possibly play during the tour.

This development will come as a big relief to the team as they prepare for the upcoming Championship season and where depth in the team will once again be tested.

The USA tour is going to be yet another crucial period for the pre-season training and gives the players playing under Parkinson the opportunity to get playing time against teams such as Leeds United, Liverpool, and Sunderland before proper competitive games begin.

It is at this point in time that Hardie needs to focus on regaining his fitness as fast as possible without causing any injuries along the way.

Even though missing out on the tour is not the ideal situation, there is still plenty of time for the striker to be fully integrated within Parkinson’s team before the season starts.
